The Spa : Es Saadi Palace Spa

Opened in this exceptional setting in 2010, the Palace Spa is a truly unique place in Morocco.

Accessible from the Es Saadi Palace reception through an ancient Moroccan door that immediately sets the tone combining pure tradition

and ultra-modernity, a luxurious and refined 3,000-sqm space with sumptuous architecture inspired by Oriental palaces. Built around a hundred-year-old eucalyptus tree, the Spa offers a holistic approach and a wide selection of amenities and treatments (5 different brands, each an expert in their domain) to perfectly suit the needs and wishes of one and all.

The unique concept of the Oriental Thermae® steam bath course is part of this holistic experience: a series of dry or humid heat baths, in an atmosphere alternating warmth and cold to purify and cleanse the body and mind. Relaxation continues with sensory experience showers and the Laconium sweat bath with a view on the blue-tiled pool and the majestic eucalyptus tree. A genuine escape from it all, indeed! To re-establish the flow of energy between the body and the mind, signature massages were developed in collaboration with Gil Amsallem, physiotherapist-osteopath and trainer who has studied various techniques the world over.

A timeless interlude in a magical space entirely dedicated to wellness of the body and the mind …

This uniquely designed, pleasure-filled Oriental haven offers a series of hot and cold baths to purify, detoxify and revitalise the body. Come discover the dry or humid heat baths, clad in marble and mosaics in Majorelle blue, emerald green and pearly white. The rooms are bathed in light and steam, and delightful scented mists of rose, orange blossom, myrrh, mint or eucalyptus fill the air.

Between each bath, stop at the Ice Fountain to refresh and reinvigorate the body before relaxing at the herbal steam sauna. The Ice Fountain was sculpted out of marble and then embellished with zellige mosaics from Fez. In the middle of the herbal steam sauna is a cauldron (exclusively designed for the Es Saadi Palace Spa), where handfuls of aromatic herbs and plants, different ones every day, are distilled to waft their aromas that purify the mind and the body. Ecstasy continues with mood lighting and the sensory experience showers where the water falls like hot rain or a cold jet, and then on to the Laconium, a spacious, luminous room with rose–coloured mosaics.

Property Overview : Es Saadi Marrakech Resort

Es Saadi Palace hotel Marrakech

Two years after founding the Marrakech Casino in 1952, Jean Bauchet placed the cornerstone of what was at first called the Casino Hotel and later renamed Es Saadi. As if suspended in time, this idyllic place conveyed authentic emotions to visiting travellers and it quickly became a haven, an oasis for people in the know. Josephine Baker, Maurice Chevalier, Charles Aznavour and many more celebrities got their start at the old Casino Theatre, known today as the Theatro, Morocco’s most exclusive nightclub. Others such as Jacques Brel and The Rolling Stones also came for restorative breaks. The Palace, ten villas with private pools, eight Ksars and the luxurious Palace Spa, a totally novel concept space in Morocco, opened during the 2000s.

A Phyto Hair Spa and the Dior institut – the second in a Palace – also opened within the Spa. Built around a hundred-year-old eucalyptus tree, a holistic philosophy holds sway within the walls. The Palace Spa features the unique Oriental Thermae® steam bath concept and proposes signature massages exclusively developed in collaboration with a physio therapist-osteopath who also consults with other brands. A team of therapists with body, health and beauty expertise are also at the service of our guests.

Rooms & Services

The 84 Suites offer top-notch accommodation in balconied rooms with restrained Moroccan décor. All have huge king-sized beds, a dressing room, a shimmering marble bathroom with separate bath and shower, and views over the gardens and pool. Families are accommodated in the ksars – mini, two-bedroom castles with direct pool access – while love-birds and celebrities hide away in the 10 individually styled private villas, which each have their own garden, heated pool, electric cart and butler.

This cuisine is based on healthy and balanced recipes that are rich in fiber, and which boost the body through the use of low- calorie and low-fat ingredients. It is about eating in a healthy and sustainable way and as such all the dishes are prepared with local products sourced from the Marrakech Tensift-Al Haouz area or the coastal cities of Oualidia and Dakhla.

The organic Salad Bar is located in the Lagon & Jardin restaurant near the swimming pool. People who adore light and delicious combinations may choose among raw or cooked vegetables, cereals and pulses, and fresh herbs cultivated in the family’s organic vegetable plot and orchard located in the Ourika valley. A range of ‘smart food’ ingredients may also be added; they are beautifully presented on a section of the bar in pretty green ceramic bowls. A healthy and balanced diet with nutritious ingredients such as spirulina, a protein-rich microalgae, or flaxseed packed with Omega 3 fatty acids to boost the body and stimulate improved cellular renewal.
